Plainview, N.Y.-based distributor Astrex Electronics Inc. announced its acquisition of TIM-CO, a distributor of electronic components focused on commercial aviation, space, oil and gas, industrial and military markets. TIM-CO will continue to operate from its Simi Valley, California-based location as a stand-alone branch of Astrex.
The deal expands the companies’ product offering and geographic coverage, giving Astrex and TIM-CO customers access to electronic components from more than 25 manufacturers through franchised agreements.
“We are very pleased to welcome the management and employees of TIM-CO to the Astrex team,” Astrex president Mike McGuire said in announcing the deal this week. “Collectively, the senior management teams have more than 140 years of experience in the high-reliability interconnect market. Joining forces enables both companies to leverage this experience and to provide a broader range of products and services to our respective customer bases.”
TIM-CO president James Clarizio added: “The opportunity to better serve our customers was the deciding factor in our decision to partner with Astrex. The ability to offer a broader range of products with better service via an expanded geographic footprint is something our customers will greatly value.”
Clarizio will serve as general manager of Astrex’s West Coast branch.
