Digi-Key Corp., electronic component distributor, announced an updated Scheme-it circuit design tool. The tool was built by Aspen Labs LLC and is an “idea generator,” allowing users to record their circuit design ideas in a shareable, electronic system. The tool allows users to design from the entire Digi-Key catalog, with parts that are available for shipping.
The new upgrade features: the ability to diagram at the block, icon, system, or schematic level; access to more than 700 generic symbols and 4 million components through the catalog; the ability to keep designs private, public, create a sharing link, or embed into Web pages, blogs, or emails; Bill of Material (BOM) upload capability; easy access to technical support; and, the ability to export PDF or PNG files. With the tool already seeing more than 30,000 designs and an average of 42,000 visits per month, the distributor is now integrating manufacturer symbols, solutions, and reference designs into the tool.
