Electronic invoicing and purchase-to-pay solutions provider Basware was honored with a Green Supply Chain Award from Supply & Demand Chain magazine. This is the fifth consecutive year the B2B commerce solutions company has received the award recognizing its efforts to reduce paper consumption.
Basware was honored for its efforts to “significantly reduce volumes of paper invoices through e-invoicing, automating financial processes, and conducting business over the Basware Commerce Network, the largest open B2B commerce network,” the company said.
In addition to environmental sustainability, Basware’s solutions and services help companies gain visibility and control over finances, reduce costs, and improve working capital.
“B2B commerce generates a massive amount of paper, and many mid- to large-sized companies receive hundreds of thousands of invoices with related documentation annually,” said Bob Cohen, vice president, North America, Basware. “Basware is committed to helping these companies eliminate paper by offering automated purchase-to-pay and e-invoicing solutions that will help them significantly reduce their carbon footprint.”
By implementing e-invoicing, companies no longer need to print, post, process, manually key-in, store, and dispose of paper invoices, helping them achieve green targets.
The 2014 Green Supply Chain Awards recognize companies that are making green or sustainability a core part of their supply chain strategy, and are working to achieve measurable sustainability goals within their own operations and/or supply chains, in the areas of Sourcing/Procurement, Fulfillment/Logistics, Operations, Product Lifecycle Management, and other areas of the supply chain. The awards also recognize providers of supply chain solutions and services assisting their customers in achieving measurable sustainability goals.
