Some of the industry’s top distributors were celebrating the achievement of top honors as 2015 got underway. Philadelphia-based precision connector and power supplies distributor PEI-Genesis was one, announcing its receipt of Amphenol Ltd.’s Distributor of the Year award for 2014. Amphenol presented the award to PEI-Genesis staff at the distributor’s European sales meeting in Southampton, UK.
PEI-Genesis, which supplies custom assembled precision connectors and power supplies to customers in military, aerospace, and industrial markets, was recognized for its ongoing contributions to Amphenol’s success, according to Amphenol representative Mary Egan.
“We really appreciate being invited to the PEI-Genesis sales meeting for a full day, engaging with the PEI sales team with product training from six different Amphenol divisions,” said Egan, Amphenol’s UK distribution manager. “It was great to be able to finish the day by presenting this award to the hard-working and talented PEI team.”
In related news, Germany-based electronic components distributor Rutronik was named Best Distributor of the Year by Samsung Electro-Mechanics for achieving the greatest year-on-year sales increase throughout Europe. Rutronik has partnered with Samsung Electro-Mechanics since 1996, marketing the manufacturer’s range of passive components to customers in Europe and China, and providing off-shore support in North America. Rutronik grew sales of Samsung Electro-Mechanics’ products by 13% in 2014.
“The growth in sales really exceeded our expectations. With the Best Distributor of the Year award, we would like to take this opportunity to thank Rutronik for the outstanding development and our partnership built on trust," said Stephan Daeumer, sales manager, EMEA, for Samsung Electro-Mechanics.
