Electrocomponents plc, parent company to European electronic components distributor RS Components and North American distributor Allied Electronics, has named Lindsley Ruth Group Chief Executive, effective April 1. Ruth will be based at the group’s headquarters in Oxford, UK.
Ruth is executive vice president at Future Electronics, where he has worked since 2002. He has also held management positions with distributor TTI Inc. and Solectron Corp. Electrocomponents’ current Group Chief Executive Ian Mason will step down on March 31, the company had said previously.
“We are delighted that Lindsley is joining Electrocomponents as group chief executive,” said Peter Johnson, company chairman. “He has highly relevant international experience and an excellent track record in a successful global distribution business with many similarities to our own. He has consistently driven growth and performance, and I look forward to working with him to grow our business and deliver value for our shareholders.”
“I am excited about joining the team at Electrocomponents and look forward to leading the organization to accelerate growth, improve profitability and set the business on track to create value,” Ruth said in a statement announcing the leadership change.
