Mouser Electronics introduced an updated Internet of Things Applications site earlier this month, bringing together two evolving technologies that are critical for the new application: wireless connectivity for connecting embedded systems and smart sensors.
“Combined with recent advances in low-power microcontrollers, these new ‘things’ are being connected to the Internet easily and inexpensively, ushering in a second industrial revolution,” the company said in announcing the site July 2.
The site includes an overview of IoT technology systems along with additional details on connectivity, data collection, processors, power, storage, and more, all designed to help engineers better understand the expanding field of IoT. Like Mouser’s more than 30 other applications and technologies sites, the IoT site also includes links to featured products available from the distributor’s manufacturer partners as well as data sheets, articles, and other technical resources.
In separate news, Mouser’s President and CEO Glenn Smith will be a featured speaker at the upcoming Dallas, Texas, regional meeting of the Electronic Components Industry Association (ECIA). The meeting will take place August 4 at the Sheraton DFW Airport Hotel in Irving, Texas, and Smith will discuss enhancements to ECIA’s authorized distributor inventory search site, www.eciaauthorized.com. Smith also will discuss the association’s role in combatting counterfeit components in the electronics supply chain.
