Some of the industry’s largest electronic components distributors were honored for various industry achievements recently. Most recently, Avnet Inc. was recognized as one of the world’s largest corporations, ranking 430th on the 2015 Global FORTUNE 500 list. The technology company recorded sales of $27.5 billion in fiscal 2014 and moved up 44 spots on the list compared to last year.
Avnet, which sells electronic components and related services through its Avnet Electronics Marketing business, ranked 108th on the 2015 FORTUNE 500 list of the largest U.S. companies earlier this year. Looking at industry-specific rankings, Avnet took the number 1 spot on Global Purchasing’s 2015 Top 50 Electronics Distributors report, released in May.

Avnet also announced this summer that it received a Total Cost of Ownership (TCOOTM) Supplier Award from electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider Celestica. The company recognized Avnet as Best Distributor Partner, which honors suppliers that support Celestica’s TCOOTM strategy and demonstrate excellence in quality, service, pricing, and flexibility.
Germany-based top distributor Rutronik, which ranked 11th on Global Purchasing’s 2015 Top 50 Electronics Distributors report, received two key customer awards recently. The distributor was named Best Distributor of the Year 2014 by manufacturer ASJ and Best Distributor for 2014 by transformer specialist Marschner.
Texas-based distributor TTI was honored for supplier excellence and sales growth, receiving Raytheon’s 3-Star Supplier Excellence Award this summer and receiving the 2015 Outstanding Sales Achievement award from TDK. In addition, TTI received a Military/Aerospace Distributor of the Year Award from Souriau, a division of Esterline Connection Technologies, and also received the Distributor of the Year Award from Bourns. TTI ranked 7th on Global Purchasing 2015 Top 50.
