In recent supply chains news, top distributors Allied Electronics and Mouser Electronics announced new partnerships aimed at expanding their product and service offerings to engineering customers.
Allied will offer products from Focus Display Solutions, an engineer-based LCD company. Categories include multi-interface color TFT modules, low-power LCDs, touch-panel technology, low-cost/min-stock TFTs, and character and graphic displays for new project designs. The distributor will launch a new LCD Selector tool on its website next month to support the partnership; the tool will help LCD designers and engineers select the correct LCD technology for their new designs, the companies said.
In other news, Mouser Electronics announced a new partnership with component makers Fairchild Semiconductor, Littlefuse, and Amphenol Commercial to offer designers the building blocks of a USB Type-C solution, a technology that provides a multifunction, single-cable solution for audio/video, data, and power. Applications range from laptops and smartphones to flash drives and video systems.
The offering includes products in the Fairchild USB Type-C portfolio, Littlefuse’s USB 3.1 Type-C circuit protection devices, and Amphenol Commercial USB 3.1 Type-C connectors.
