Electronic components distributor Newark element14 is expanding its ability to serve industrial automation and control customers with the addition of new-generation interconnect products from TE Connectivity. Accessible via the distributor’s TE pages online, the interconnect components target engineers working in harsh, high-capacity, high-impact environments, especially the “computer-controlled factories of tomorrow,” the company said.
The product portfolio includes M8/M12 connectors, ARISO contactless connectivity, Heavy Duty Connectors, industrial RJ45, circular connectors, terminal blocks, relays, Dynamic series, Motorman hybrid connectors and more. These products can be applied to a wide range of industries, including industrial automation and production equipment, data communication systems, energy and robotics. And they complement Newark element14’s range of interconnect solutions.
“The factories of tomorrow require high-performance production processes in which cutting-edge robotic systems provide flexibility, reliability, precision and energy efficiency,” Sean Mak, head of supplier management–connectors at Newark element14, said in making the announcement. “Engineers can easily access our TE pages to quickly review and select the TE solutions they want for industrial automation applications.”
The TE announcement followed news earlier in the week that Newark element14 had expanded its industrial reach with new reference design boards and evaluation kits from Maxim Integrated Products. The distributor added Maxim’s Smart Force Sensor Reference Design Board, a rugged, cost-effective reference design that delivers fast, low-power data acquisition and provides high precision, high resolution measurements.
The board is suitable for applications such as 3D human-interface input devices, battery-powered instrumentation, and industrial control and measurement. The expansion is part of a larger effort to enhance the availability of Maxim solutions available via the elemetn14 brand globally, the distributor said.
