The 35th annual State of Logistics report, this year aptly titled “Waiting for the Tide to Turn,” highlights the trends in logistics observed over 2023 and the early months of 2024, as well as strategies logisticians and modal managers can deploy.
The Reshoring Initiative’s 2023 report shows jobs continuing to flow into the U.S. from Asia as companies look to shorten supply chains and protect themselves against ongoing trade disputes. The figure fell in 2023 from 2022’s record but remains well elevated compared to pre-pandemic statistics.
According to the Global Tracker report, monthly inbound cargo volume at the nation’s major container ports is continuing to rise, despite various supply chain challenges.
A report from Accenture, “Next stop, next-gen,” reveals that the use of artificial intelligence and generative AI delivers significant benefits for supply chain, with digitally mature supply chains being 23% more profitable than their peers.
