Storage and information-management services company, Iron Mountain Incorporated adds services for Secure eWaste and IT Asset Disposition (or SITAD) to its existing General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule 36 contract. By following a defined disposal processes, Iron Mountain helps federal agencies protect against transparency to reducing the risk of data breaches and regulatory penalties when disposing of sensitive equipment like hard drives. The company also offers recycling services that support the National Strategy for Electronics Stewardship to help minimize eWaste in landfills.
"Agencies' discarded assets are kept highly secure throughout the entire disposition process, with secure transport that includes GPS tracking and a complete chain-of-custody audit trail from collection through processing,” explains Michael Lewis, vice president and general manager of Iron Mountain Government Services.
